Beacon Hill Town Homes

This 18 unit Boston Beacon Hill inspired multi-unit building just steps away from Brooks Park in Medford was built in recognition of the fine craftsmanship of the past. Elements like the reproduction cornice and other period details set this building apart

Johnson RealtyI have worked with David Stirling of Stirling/Brown Architects, Inc. for over thirteen years and have found his expert advice and analysis pertaining to my various project invaluable. We worked on several challenging historic restorations, particularly the 1842 Greek Revival, Warren Sweetser House on Franklin Street, Stoneham, MA. The famous 1695 Butterfield/Whittemore House and the 1803 Gershom Cutter House both in Arlington, MA and the 1840 octagonal Richard Pinkham House in Medford, MA., all of which were placed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. His firm recently designed for me a 22,000 sq. ft. Federal Colonial style apartment building at 20 Brooks Park in Medford, MA. I used his consultation throughout this project. David and his firm were always thorough and professional.

Gambrel Shingle Style Custom Home

This spec home was designed for a developer who was looking for a Gambrel Shingle Style home with elegant finishings. When reflecting on the project Him Freeman, President of Freeman Realty Associates, stated:

Stirling/Brown’s design for the house we developed at 50 Lorena Road in Winchester was exactly what we were looking for – a truly special home. There is no question that the quality of the architecture and the interior flow provided by the floor plan, were key to the successful sale of this home. It is always a pleasure to work with people who are good at what they do.

PBS’ This Old House Renovation

The PlanThis Old House’s producer Bruce Irving had been contacted by homeowners in Winchester on the renovation of a 1922 Colonial Revival House.  As Steve Thomas said on the show:

“It turned out finding an architect wasn’t as tough as you would think. We asked around and one name kept coming up. David Stirling and his firm have done over 120 projects in Winchester. So we called him up and David showed a house he recently completed.”
